AutoCAD Drafter

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Work Setting: Hybrid (Monday–Thursday Onsite, Friday Remote)

Overview

We are assisting a client in Plano, TX in their search for an experienced AutoCAD Drafter. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support technical design needs, collaborate closely with sales and production teams, and create impactful custom design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and provide technical solutions and recommendations.
• Create detailed designs and drawings using CAD software for customized barrier and safety systems.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to collect accurate measurements and project information.
• Assist in developing project proposals and quotes by providing precise technical data.
• Support the production team with manufacturing and assembly requirements for custom products.
• Provide training and technical guidance to internal team members on product design aspects.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, delivering timely solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on AutoCAD drafting experience (required).
• Background in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or related technical field.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with safety industry products or knowledge of safety regulations is a plus.
