Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Stream Restoration Engineer to join our Building and Infrastructure - Environmental Planning and Permitting team in Portland OR, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow your technical expertise while contributing to meaningful environmental solutions from culvert replacements to watershed-scale restoration. You'll work alongside experts in engineering, geomorphology, biology, geospatial, and permitting to deliver integrated solutions for clients such as Departments of Transportation, Sound Transit, municipalities, tribal entities, and the Army Corps of Engineers. You'll play a key supporting role on multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects with hydrology and hydraulics (H&H), floodplain management, fish passage, sediment transport, and stream restoration across the U.S. West and beyond. What You'll Do: - Support H&H modeling, stream restoration design, fish passage planning, and floodplain analysis - Collaborate across Jacobs' Environmental Planning and Permitting, Water Resources, and Transportation groups - Prepare design calculations, reports, plans, specifications, and contract documents - Participate in fieldwork for data collection, construction oversight, and environmental assessments - Coordinate with permitting teams, clients, agencies, and subcontractors - Contribute to basis of design reports, biological and geomorphic assessments, and mitigation planning - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental engineering with a focus in water resources or equivalent as a basis for stream restoration design - Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with your project team - Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs - Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation/Inroads, and/or OpenRoads Designer - Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or the ability to obtain it within 6 months. Ideally, you'll also have: - Hands-on experience with fieldwork or construction - Working knowledge of HEC-RAS 1D/2D or SRH-2D, and ArcGIS Pro - Theoretical knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, geomorphology, fish biology, sediment transport, and / or flood risk assessment. - Authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
