Position Summary

Studio 1 Catering is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals for artists, production crews, and special events.

As a line cook at Studio 1, you’ll do more than just follow recipes—you’ll bring precision, teamwork, and heart to every plate. Working side by side with our chefs and servers, you’ll play a critical role in delivering meals that reflect our commitment to excellence and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Assist chefs with prep, cooking, and service for daily meals and events.
  • Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and plating standards consistently.
  • Handle special dietary requests (vegan, gluten-free, allergies, etc.) with care and accuracy.
  • Maintain food safety, quality, and sanitation standards at all times.

Kitchen Operations

  • Keep kitchen and prep areas organized, stocked, and clean throughout service.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory (FIFO).
  • Operate equipment safely and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Jump in where needed—this is a fast-paced, team-first environment.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work closely with chefs, utility staff, and servers to ensure seamless service.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully in a high-energy, high-volume environment.
  • Support back of house teammates with prep, cleanup, and cross-training when needed.

Cleanup & Closing

  • Break down and sanitize cooking and prep areas after events.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Leave kitchen spaces spotless and ready for the next service.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of professional kitchen experience preferred (catering, events, or high-volume service a plus).
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with standard cooking techniques.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable.
  • ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Flexible schedule—must be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Culture & Expectations

At Studio 1, culture comes before titles, tasks, or résumés. We are a people-first, family-style catering company serving Nashville’s music and event community. Skills can be sharpened, but heart, attitude, and hospitality cannot—that’s why we hire for culture first.

We go the extra mile to create a welcoming environment for our clients and our team. That means jumping through hoops to get it right, staying flexible in the face of change, and treating everyone—from artists to teammates—with respect and warmth.

Every Studio 1 team member is expected to embody our values:

· Hospitality-minded – even in the kitchen, you’re serving people first.

· Team-driven – success comes from pitching in and working together.

· Flexible under pressure – events move fast; you adapt with grit and creativity.

· Committed to excellence – from prep to serving, details matter.

· Positive energy – enthusiasm and hustle set the tone and make the kitchen hum.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, love working with a close-knit team, and take pride in serving meals that make people feel cared for, Studio 1 is the place for you.
