Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Outboard Technician to join our team. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining outboard engines and related systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with major outboard brands, strong troubleshooting skills, and a passion for the marine industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain outboard engines, including Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, and Evinrude
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, fuel system inspections, and water pump replacements
  • Troubleshoot electrical and fuel system issues
  • Install new outboard motors and rigging components
  • Repair and install steering systems, throttle controls, and related accessories
  • Conduct engine performance testing and sea trials as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
  • Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and industry safety standards
  • Communicate with service advisors and customers regarding diagnostics and repair recommendations
  • Keep work areas clean and organized

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an outboard technician or marine mechanic (certifications preferred)
  • Knowledge of outboard engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and rigging
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Familiarity with marine diagnostic tools and software
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Manufacturer certifications (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, etc.) are a plus
